Anchor Watch

Anchor Watch is a safety measure taken by the crew of a vessel to ensure that the vessel remains in a safe position while at anchor. It involves assigning a crew member or multiple crew members to monitor the vessel's position and surroundings at all times, usually in shifts, to ensure that the anchor is holding securely and the vessel is not drifting into danger. The crew member(s) on watch will also be responsible for monitoring weather conditions and adjusting the vessel's position or anchor as necessary. Anchor Watch is an important safety measure to prevent collisions, groundings, and other accidents while a vessel is at anchor.
