Bills of Lading (B/L) are legal documents issued by a carrier to a shipper that acknowledge receipt of goods for shipment. They serve as a contract of carriage, a receipt of goods, and a document of title. B/Ls contain information about the type, quantity, and destination of the goods being carried, as well as the terms and conditions of the shipment.
