Bottom Trawl

Bottom trawl is a fishing method that involves dragging a cone-shaped net along the seafloor to catch fish and other marine organisms that live near the bottom. The net is attached to a large metal frame, called a trawl door, which helps to keep the net open as it is towed behind a fishing vessel. Bottom trawling can be destructive to seafloor habitats, as it can damage or destroy coral reefs, sponge beds, and other important ecosystems.
