Dry Docks

Dry docks are structures that are used for the construction, repair, and maintenance of ships and boats. They are enclosed basins that are drained of water to allow ships to be brought in for work to be carried out on their hulls, propellers, and other underwater components. Dry docks are typically made of concrete, steel, or timber, and are equipped with pumps and valves that control the flow of water in and out of the basin. They are essential for the upkeep of vessels, as they allow for inspections and repairs to be carried out without the need for the ship to be taken out of service. Dry docks can be found in shipyards and ports around the world.
