Fire Support

Fire Support is the application of fire, coordinated with the maneuver of forces, to destroy, neutralize, or suppress the enemy. It includes all types of fires such as naval gunfire, artillery, mortars, close air support, and missiles. Fire support is a critical component of naval warfare as it provides the necessary firepower to support ground troops and protect naval assets. It is used to attack enemy positions, disrupt enemy movements, and provide cover for friendly forces. Fire support is planned and executed by trained personnel who coordinate with other units to ensure the most effective use of available resources.
