Lighthouse

A lighthouse is a tower or building, usually located on the coast or at the entrance of a harbor, that emits light to guide ships and boats at sea. Lighthouses have been used for centuries as aids to navigation, warning ships of dangerous areas and helping them to navigate safely through channels and around obstacles. They typically have a powerful light source, such as a lamp or beacon, that is visible from a great distance, and may also emit a distinctive pattern of flashes or colors to help ships identify their location. Lighthouses are an important part of maritime history and continue to play a vital role in modern navigation.
