LS (or LUMPS)

LS (or LUMPS) stands for Liner Shipping Connectivity Index or Liner Unavailability and Manufacturing Processing Time System. It is a measure of the level of integration of a country's maritime transport system with the global shipping network. The index takes into account the number of ships that call at a country's ports, the size of those ships, and the number of services that connect the country's ports with other ports around the world. A higher LS score indicates better connectivity and integration with the global shipping network, which can have positive impacts on a country's economy and trade. The LUMPS system, on the other hand, is a tool used by shipping companies to estimate the time it takes to load and unload cargo at a port, as well as the time it takes for manufacturing and processing of goods.
