Supertankers

Supertankers are large cargo ships designed to transport massive amounts of liquid cargo, typically crude oil or petroleum products. These vessels can range in size from 120,000 to over 320,000 deadweight tons (DWT) and can be up to 1,500 feet long. Supertankers are equipped with specialized pumps and piping systems that allow for the loading and unloading of cargo at high rates of speed. Due to their size and the hazardous nature of their cargo, supertankers require highly skilled crews and advanced safety systems to prevent accidents and spills. In recent years, there has been a trend towards the construction of larger and more efficient supertankers, which has led to concerns about the environmental impact of these vessels.
