Veer

Veer is a term used in Indian maritime context to refer to a type of small sailing vessel with one or two masts. These vessels were traditionally used for coastal trade and fishing activities. They are typically made of wood and have a shallow draft, allowing them to navigate in shallow waters. Veers are usually equipped with a square sail and a jib, and are propelled by wind power. They are commonly found in the coastal regions of India, particularly in the states of Gujarat and Maharashtra. Veers have played an important role in the maritime history of India, and continue to be used for fishing and transportation purposes in some parts of the country.
