Abrasive Water Jets
Abrasive water jets (AWJs) are high-pressure water streams that are mixed with abrasive particles and used for cutting, cleaning, and surface preparation in various maritime applications. They are also used for cutting and shaping metal parts, such as propellers and rudders, and for removing damaged sections of ship structures. AWJs offer several advantages over traditional cutting methods, including faster cutting speeds, reduced heat-affected zones, and lower noise and dust levels.
