Signals
Signals are a means of communication used in the maritime industry to convey information between vessels, or between a vessel and shore. The International Code of Signals (ICS) is a standardized system of signals used by ships and other maritime entities for communication. It consists of a set of flags, each representing a letter or number, and a set of standard phrases and messages. Signals play a crucial role in ensuring safe and efficient navigation at sea.
