Apron Plate

An apron plate is a horizontal plate located at the waterline of a ship's bow. It is designed to protect the hull from damage caused by waves and impacts while the ship is underway. The apron plate extends from the stem to the forward collision bulkhead and is usually made of steel. It is an important component of the ship's structure as it helps to distribute the impact of waves and reduces the risk of damage to the hull. In addition, the apron plate can also improve the ship's performance by reducing drag and increasing speed.
