Climate Change

Climate change refers to the long-term alteration of temperature and typical weather patterns in a place. Climate change could refer to a particular location or the planet as a whole. Climate change is caused by factors such as biotic processes, variations in solar radiation received by Earth, plate tectonics, and volcanic eruptions. However, human activities, such as burning fossil fuels, are increasing the amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, which is amplifying Earth's natural greenhouse effect and causing global warming. Climate change has significant impacts on the maritime industry, including sea level rise, ocean acidification, and changes in ocean currents and weather patterns, which can affect shipping routes, port operations, and offshore activities.
