Controllable Pitch Propeller

A controllable pitch propeller (CPP) is a type of marine propeller that allows the pitch of the blades to be adjusted while the ship is in motion. The pitch can be adjusted to optimize the ship's speed and efficiency in different operating conditions, such as varying water depths, currents, and wind speeds. The CPP system consists of a hub that holds the propeller blades and a mechanism that changes the angle of the blades. The system is controlled by a hydraulic or electric system that allows the pitch to be adjusted from the bridge. CPPs are commonly used on large ships, such as tankers, container ships, and cruise ships.
