Dry Docking

Dry-docking is a process of taking a vessel out of the water for inspection, maintenance, and repair. It involves placing the vessel in a dry dock, which is a narrow basin that can be flooded and drained. Once the vessel is in the dry dock, the water is drained out, and the vessel is supported by blocks and shores. This allows the hull and other underwater parts of the vessel to be inspected and repaired. Dry-docking is an essential part of the maintenance and repair of vessels, and it is required by law at regular intervals. During dry-docking, the vessel's hull is cleaned, painted, and inspected for damage or corrosion. Machinery and equipment are also inspected and repaired or replaced as necessary.
