Emergency Medical Treatment

Emergency Medical Treatment refers to the immediate medical care provided to a person who has suddenly become ill or injured while on board a vessel. This includes first aid, basic life support, and advanced life support measures. Emergency medical treatment may be required for a variety of conditions, such as cardiac arrest, drowning, severe bleeding, fractures, and burns. It is important for vessels to have trained medical personnel and appropriate medical equipment on board to provide timely and effective emergency medical treatment. In some cases, emergency medical treatment may also involve the coordination of medical evacuation to a shore-based medical facility.
