Flag State

The flag state is responsible for ensuring that the vessel is seaworthy, properly crewed, and equipped, and that it complies with international conventions and regulations. In addition, the flag state is responsible for issuing the ship's official documents, such as the ship's registration certificate, and for maintaining a public register of all vessels registered under its flag.
