Flood Currents

Flood currents are the tidal currents that occur during the rising tide. As the tide rises, water flows into a basin or estuary, creating a flood current. Flood currents can be strong and dangerous, especially in narrow channels or areas with strong tidal ranges. They can also be affected by wind and other weather conditions. Flood currents are important to consider for navigation and can be used to aid in travel, such as using them to enter a harbor or to help a vessel move upstream. However, they can also pose a risk to vessels if not properly accounted for.
