Gantry
A gantry is a large and tall structure that is used to lift and move heavy objects, such as containers, onto and off of ships. It consists of a framework of steel beams that are supported by vertical legs and can be moved along rails. Gantry cranes are commonly used in ports and shipyards to load and unload cargo from ships. They are capable of lifting very heavy loads and can move them quickly and efficiently. Gantry cranes can be operated by a single person using a remote control, and they are essential for the smooth and efficient operation of a modern port.
