Grounded

Grounded is a term used in maritime context to describe a situation where a vessel is stuck or stranded on the seabed or shore. This can happen due to various reasons such as navigational errors, adverse weather conditions, equipment failure, or human error. When a vessel is grounded, it can cause significant damage to the vessel and the environment. The vessel may suffer structural damage, and the cargo may be lost or damaged. Grounding can also cause oil spills, which can have severe environmental consequences. Salvage operations are required to refloat the vessel and remove it from the grounding site.
