Handysize
Handysize is a term used to describe a class of cargo ships that are small enough to navigate through narrow waterways and ports, but large enough to carry a significant amount of cargo. These vessels typically have a deadweight tonnage (DWT) of between 15,000 and 35,000 metric tons, and are designed to carry a wide range of dry bulk and breakbulk cargoes, including grains, coal, steel, and forest products. Handysize ships are often used for short sea shipping and regional trade, and are particularly well-suited for serving smaller ports and terminals that are inaccessible to larger vessels. They are also known for their versatility and efficiency, as they can be easily loaded and unloaded using a variety of methods, including cranes, conveyor belts, and grabs.
