High Waves

High waves refer to the large and powerful waves that occur in the open ocean due to strong winds, storms, or other weather conditions. These waves can be dangerous for ships and boats, causing them to capsize or suffer damage. High waves are typically classified as those that are over 6 meters (20 feet) in height, and they can be further categorized based on their shape and behavior. Rogue waves, for example, are abnormally large and steep waves that can appear suddenly and pose a significant threat to vessels. High waves can also impact coastal areas, causing flooding and erosion. To navigate safely in high waves, ships must adjust their speed and course, and take other precautions to ensure the safety of the crew and cargo.
