Medevac

Medevac is a term used in the maritime context to refer to the medical evacuation of a sick or injured person from a ship to a medical facility onshore. Medevac is a critical operation that requires careful planning and execution to ensure the safety and well-being of the patient. The process involves assessing the patient's condition, stabilizing them, and transporting them to the nearest medical facility equipped to handle their condition. Medevac can be carried out by various means, including helicopters, rescue boats, or other vessels equipped with medical facilities. In some cases, the ship's crew may be required to provide medical assistance until the patient is transferred to a medical facility onshore.
