Pipelines

Pipelines are a means of transporting liquids or gases over long distances. In the maritime context, pipelines are often used to transport oil and gas from offshore drilling platforms to onshore processing facilities. These pipelines can be laid on the seabed or suspended in the water column. Pipelines are typically made of steel and are designed to withstand the harsh marine environment, including corrosion, wave action, and marine growth. Regular inspection and maintenance are required to ensure the integrity of the pipeline and prevent leaks or other failures. In addition to oil and gas, pipelines can also be used to transport other liquids, such as water or chemicals, in the maritime industry.
