A purser is a crew member responsible for handling the financial transactions on board a ship. They are responsible for keeping track of all financial transactions, including the payment of wages, the purchase of supplies, and the collection of fees and charges. The purser is also responsible for maintaining accurate records of all financial transactions and ensuring that all accounts are balanced and up-to-date. In addition to their financial duties, pursers may also be responsible for other administrative tasks, such as maintaining passenger manifests and coordinating with port authorities.
