Radar Cross Section

Radar Cross Section (RCS) is the measure of a target's ability to reflect radar signals in the direction of the radar receiver. It is a critical parameter in determining the detectability of a target by radar. RCS is influenced by the target's size, shape, and material properties, as well as the frequency and polarization of the radar signal. A larger RCS indicates a stronger radar return and thus a more detectable target. In maritime context, RCS is an important factor in the design and operation of naval vessels, as it affects their ability to evade detection by enemy radar systems.
