Remotely Operated Vehicles

Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) are underwater robots that are controlled by a human operator on the surface. They are connected to the surface by a tether that provides power, control, and video feedback. ROVs are used for a variety of tasks in the maritime industry, including underwater inspections, maintenance, and repairs of offshore structures, pipelines, and ship hulls. They are also used for scientific research, exploration, and surveying of the ocean floor. ROVs are equipped with cameras, lights, and sensors that allow them to operate in low-light conditions and to collect data on the underwater environment. They are an important tool for the offshore oil and gas industry, as well as for the military and scientific communities.
