TEUs
TEU stands for Twenty-foot Equivalent Unit, which is a standard unit of measurement used in the shipping industry to describe the cargo capacity of a container ship. One TEU represents the cargo capacity of a standard 20-foot container, which is 20 feet long, 8 feet wide, and 8 feet 6 inches high. The capacity of a container ship is measured in terms of the number of TEUs it can carry. For example, a ship with a capacity of 5,000 TEUs can carry 5,000 standard 20-foot containers. TEUs are used to calculate shipping rates, and they are also used to measure the volume of cargo that is transported by container ships.
