Water Cycle
The water cycle, also known as the hydrological cycle, is the continuous movement of water on, above, and below the surface of the Earth. It involves the processes of evaporation, transpiration, condensation, precipitation, and infiltration. The sun's energy drives the water cycle by evaporating water from oceans, lakes, and rivers, which then forms clouds. These clouds move with the wind and eventually release their moisture as precipitation, which can fall as rain or snow. Some of this precipitation is absorbed by plants and returned to the atmosphere through transpiration. The rest of the water either runs off into rivers and streams or infiltrates into the ground, where it can be stored in aquifers. The water cycle is essential for maintaining the Earth's ecosystems and providing freshwater for human use.
