Able Bodied Seaman

An Able Bodied Seaman (AB) is a skilled and experienced deckhand who is capable of performing a wide range of duties on board a ship. These duties include standing watch, handling lines and rigging, operating deck machinery, and performing general maintenance tasks. ABs are also responsible for the safe and efficient loading and unloading of cargo, as well as the proper stowage of equipment and supplies. They must be physically fit and able to work in all weather conditions, and are often required to work long hours and be away from home for extended periods of time. ABs are an essential part of the crew on any vessel, and play a critical role in ensuring the safety and success of the voyage.
