Airspace Designations

Airspace Designations refer to the division of the airspace into different classes and categories based on the level of restrictions and regulations applied to the airspace. The purpose of airspace designations is to ensure the safe and efficient use of the airspace by all aircraft. The different airspace designations include Class A, B, C, D, E, and G airspace, each with its own set of rules and regulations. Class A airspace is the most restricted airspace, with only instrument flight rules (IFR) flights allowed. Class G airspace is the least restricted airspace, with visual flight rules (VFR) flights allowed. The airspace designations are determined by factors such as the altitude of the airspace, the location of the airspace, and the type of airspace.
