Alee
Alee is a nautical term that refers to the side of a ship or boat that is sheltered from the wind. When a vessel is positioned with its bow facing into the wind, the side that is away from the wind is called alee. This term is often used in sailing and navigation to describe the position of a vessel in relation to the wind. Alee is the opposite of windward, which refers to the side of a vessel that is facing into the wind and is therefore exposed to it.
