Annexes

In the maritime context, 'Annexes' refer to the additional sections or documents that are attached to the main maritime conventions or agreements. These annexes provide detailed technical specifications, regulations, and procedures that are necessary for the implementation of the main agreement. They are an integral part of maritime law and are used to ensure the safety, security, and environmental performance of ships and maritime operations. Annexes can cover a wide range of topics, from the design and construction of ships, to the handling and disposal of hazardous materials, to the training and certification of seafarers. They are developed and updated by international maritime organizations, such as the International Maritime Organization (IMO), and are adopted by member states through a formal process. Compliance with the annexes is mandatory for all ships and maritime operations that are subject to the relevant convention or agreement.
