Belaying Pin

A belaying pin is a solid cylindrical object used to secure lines on a ship. It is typically made of wood or metal and has a tapered shape to fit into the various sizes of holes on a pin rail. Belaying pins are used to secure lines temporarily, such as when adjusting sails or mooring a vessel. They can also be used as a weapon in self-defense situations. Belaying pins are an essential tool on board a ship and are often carried by sailors at all times.
