BNWAS
Bridge Navigational Watch Alarm System (BNWAS) is a safety system that monitors the activity of the officer on watch (OOW) and alerts the crew if the OOW becomes incapacitated or is unable to perform their duties. The system continuously monitors the bridge for any activity and requires the OOW to reset the timer at regular intervals. If the timer is not reset, the system will activate an alarm to alert the crew. The BNWAS is designed to prevent accidents caused by the OOW's incapacity or inattention, such as collisions, groundings, or other navigational errors.
