Bosom Plate

Bosom Plate is a plate fitted at the forward end of the keel to protect the lower part of the stem and to strengthen the forefoot. It is usually made of steel and is an important component of the ship's structure as it helps to distribute the loads from the hull and the keel. The bosom plate is also designed to reduce the resistance of the ship when it is moving through the water. It is an essential part of the ship's construction and is carefully designed to withstand the stresses and strains of the marine environment.
