Buoyant

Buoyant refers to the ability of an object or substance to float or remain suspended in a liquid or gas. In maritime context, buoyancy is a crucial factor in determining the stability and safety of ships and other watercraft. The buoyancy of a vessel is determined by its displacement, or the amount of water it displaces when it is placed in the water. If the weight of the vessel is less than the weight of the water it displaces, the vessel will float and be considered buoyant. Buoyancy is also important in the design and placement of navigational aids such as buoys and beacons, which must be able to remain afloat and visible in all weather conditions.
