Camber

Camber is the curvature of a ship's deck from bow to stern. It is the rise of the deck from the centerline to the sides. Camber is designed into a ship's deck to allow for drainage of water and to increase the strength of the deck. The amount of camber depends on the size and type of the ship, as well as the intended use of the deck. In general, larger ships have more camber than smaller ships. Camber is an important factor in the stability and safety of a ship, as it affects the distribution of weight and the ability of the ship to handle heavy seas.
