CHOPT

CHOPT (pronounced as 'chopped') is a term used to describe the condition of a ship's propeller blades when they are damaged or broken due to contact with underwater objects such as rocks, reefs, or debris. This can cause a reduction in the ship's speed and maneuverability, as well as increased vibration and noise. CHOPT can also lead to further damage to the ship's propulsion system and hull. It is important for ship operators to regularly inspect and maintain their propellers to prevent CHOPT and ensure safe and efficient operation of the vessel.
