CHTRS

CHTRS stands for Charterers. In the maritime industry, charterers are individuals or companies who hire a vessel from the shipowner for a specific period of time or voyage. The charterer is responsible for paying the hire or freight rate, as well as for the cargo and any associated costs such as fuel, port charges, and canal dues. Charterers can be categorized into two types: voyage charterers and time charterers. Voyage charterers hire a vessel for a specific voyage or series of voyages, while time charterers hire a vessel for a specific period of time, usually several months to a few years.
