Voyage Charterers

Voyage charterers are individuals or companies who hire a vessel for a single voyage or a series of voyages between specified ports. The charterer pays for the use of the vessel, crew, and fuel, and is responsible for the cargo and any other expenses incurred during the voyage. The terms of the charter are negotiated between the charterer and the shipowner, and may include details such as the duration of the charter, the ports of call, the cargo to be carried, and the freight rate. Voyage charterers are commonly used in the shipping industry to transport bulk commodities such as oil, coal, and grain.
