Disembarkation

Disembarkation is the process of leaving a ship or other watercraft and going ashore. It is the opposite of embarkation, which is the process of getting on a ship. Disembarkation can occur at a port, dock, or other designated location. It involves the use of gangways or other means of access to get from the ship to the shore. Disembarkation may be a routine part of a voyage, such as when passengers and crew members leave a cruise ship at the end of a trip. It can also occur in emergency situations, such as when a ship is sinking and passengers and crew need to evacuate quickly.
