Dock

A dock is a man-made structure that is used for the loading, unloading, building, repairing, and maintenance of ships and boats. It is typically a basin or an artificial enclosure that is connected to the sea or a river, and it can be filled with water to allow ships to float in and out. Docks can be made of various materials such as concrete, steel, or wood, and they can be equipped with cranes, hoists, and other machinery to facilitate the handling of cargo and vessels. Docks can also provide facilities for ship crews, such as fueling, provisioning, and waste disposal. In addition, docks can serve as a protective harbor during storms or rough weather.
