Draft
Draft is the depth of a ship's keel below the waterline. It is the vertical distance between the waterline and the lowest point of the ship's keel. Draft is an important measurement for ships as it determines the amount of water a ship displaces and therefore affects its stability and maneuverability. The draft of a ship can change depending on the amount of cargo it is carrying, the weight distribution of the cargo, and the density of the water it is sailing in. It is important for ship captains to know the draft of their vessel in order to navigate safely and avoid running aground or colliding with other objects.
