Dugongs

Dugongs are large marine mammals that belong to the order Sirenia. They are also known as sea cows and are found in warm coastal waters from East Africa to Australia, including the Red Sea, Indian Ocean, and Pacific Ocean. Dugongs are herbivores and feed on seagrass, which is why they are often found in shallow waters near the coast. They can grow up to 3 meters in length and weigh up to 500 kg. Dugongs are listed as vulnerable by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) due to habitat loss, hunting, and accidental capture in fishing nets.
