ECDIS

Electronic Chart Display and Information System (ECDIS) is a computer-based navigation system that complies with International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulations and can be used as an alternative to paper nautical charts. ECDIS displays real-time navigational information from a variety of sensors and sources, including electronic navigational charts (ENCs), radar, and automatic identification systems (AIS). It provides a continuous and accurate display of a ship's position in relation to land, navigational hazards, and other vessels, allowing for safer and more efficient navigation. ECDIS also includes features such as route planning, voyage data recording, and alarm systems to alert the crew of potential dangers.
