Electronic Navigation

Electronic Navigation refers to the use of electronic devices and systems to aid in the navigation of a vessel. This includes but is not limited to GPS, radar, electronic chart display and information systems (ECDIS), automatic identification systems (AIS), and depth sounders. Electronic Navigation has become increasingly prevalent in the maritime industry due to its accuracy, efficiency, and ability to enhance safety. However, it is important to note that electronic navigation should not be relied upon solely and traditional navigation methods should also be utilized as a backup.
