Electronic Navigation Aids

Electronic Navigation Aids (ENA) are electronic devices that assist in the navigation of a vessel. These devices include GPS, radar, electronic chart display and information systems (ECDIS), automatic identification systems (AIS), and depth sounders. ENAs provide real-time information about the vessel's position, speed, and direction, as well as information about other vessels in the vicinity. They also provide information about the depth of the water and the location of hazards such as rocks and shoals. ENAs have greatly improved the safety and efficiency of navigation, allowing vessels to navigate with greater accuracy and avoid collisions. They are an essential tool for modern maritime navigation.
