EMSA


EMSA stands for European Maritime Safety Agency. It is an agency of the European Union which was established to ensure a high, uniform and effective level of maritime safety, maritime security, prevention of and response to pollution by ships, and response to marine pollution from oil and gas installations. EMSA provides technical assistance and support to the European Commission and Member States in the development and implementation of EU legislation on maritime safety, security, and pollution prevention. The agency also operates a range of services such as satellite-based oil spill and vessel detection, vessel traffic monitoring, and maritime surveillance. EMSA plays a crucial role in enhancing the safety and security of European waters and protecting the marine environment.
