Engine Control Room

The Engine Control Room (ECR) is a designated space on a ship where the main propulsion and auxiliary machinery are monitored and controlled by the engineering team. It is typically located near the engine room and houses the control panels, gauges, and monitoring equipment necessary for the safe and efficient operation of the ship's engines. The ECR is responsible for monitoring and controlling the ship's speed, direction, and power output, as well as ensuring that all machinery is operating within safe parameters. The engineering team in the ECR works closely with the bridge team to ensure that the ship is operating in accordance with the captain's orders and that any changes in speed or direction are executed smoothly and safely.
